Stillwater Music’s youth scholarship program is a vital part of our mission to build community through music education, performance, and play. By removing financial barriers, we help level the playing field for families who want their children to access the many benefits of music education—without financial strain.

Our scholarship program gives students the chance to explore their creativity, build confidence, and connect with peers through music. Most recipients participate year-round, attending weekly lessons or classes where they learn, grow, and perform alongside their peers. These inclusive settings allow children from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds to develop not only musical skills, but also collaboration, empathy, and self-expression.

What makes our scholarship program unique is its depth of access and inclusivity. We offer financial support to at-risk youth, children in foster care, and families living in or near poverty—for as long as needed. There are no auditions, prerequisites, or prior musical experience required—just a love for music and a demonstrated financial need.

Our structure is modeled after the National School Lunch Program, but with broader reach:

• Students from households below the federal poverty level receive full scholarships
• Families earning up to 300% of the poverty level may receive partial assistance on a sliding scale
• We also consider extenuating circumstances that affect a family’s ability to pay
