This 2,000 square foot multipurpose venue in Stillwater’s downtown Durango facility seats 150 people and is designed to accommodate a wide variety of performing arts – from music, dance, visual arts, and theater to poetry slams, fashion shows, film screenings, recitals, classes, meetings and more. It features flexible seating, a moveable and configurable stage, a sprung floor, theater lighting throughout, and a professional sound system.

The Light Box serves two important needs: it is an additional, larger space for Stillwater’s music students to learn, rehearse and perform; and it is already being widely used as a community asset. Stillwater’s weekly teaching schedule leaves this venue available for other uses nearly every Friday through Sunday. Stillwater is also programming local, regional and national performers, as well as renting the venue to local artists and organizations for their events.
