Sam is a classically trained soprano who received her BM in Vocal Performance from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music after studying voice and pedagogy under Kenneth Bozeman. She specializes in contemporary performance practice, which emphasizes music written by living composers, extended techniques, and departures from tonality. Sam is passionate about performing music by underrepresented voices and recontextualizing music from the Western canon. Outside of music, Sam enjoys hiking, dancing, drinking tea, and spending time with her husband and two dogs, Sass and Ohei.
