Lara enjoys playing a wide variety of musical styles, including early music, American Songbook and jazz, and bluegrass and Irish fiddle, in addition to standard orchestral and solo repertory. She earned her BA in Music Performance from the University of New Mexico and has performed and taught professionally for more than 20 years, most recently as a strings coach for the San Diego Youth Symphony. Lara has conducted home school string orchestras and founded a youth summer symphony camp in Washington state. She has been a member of groups such as the Santa Fe Symphony (NM), the Mid-Atlantic Symphony (MD), and the Bach Sinfonia (Washington, D.C.), and she currently performs with the San Juan Symphony.
