Jonathan began playing guitar and piano at age 7. Born into a musical family, he was exposed to playing music every Sunday at church where he learned how to read music, sing, and lead. Music became his main focus in high school and decided to pursue classical guitar at UTSA where spent two years studying. He would go on to graduate from Nelson University in Waxahachie, TX with a Bachelors in Music Performance. After many years playing in bands and teaching private lessons, Jonathan decided to pursue an opportunity to teach within the public education system in Houston, TX. Using his professional background in music and training in education, he brings a fun but structured atmosphere to his lessons. Focusing on the student’s own goals, he teaches students exactly what they need to know to succeed, whatever those goals may be. He looks forward to many more years of music and teaching.
