Cherry Odelberg

Cherry Odelberg loves working in and around music whether greeting students from the front desk at Stillwater or participating in Stillwater adult bands. Cherry studied voice and piano at what is now Colorado Mesa University. Her Organizational Management degree from Colorado Christian University included a minor in music and the role of Mrs. Mullin in that university’s 2006 production of Carousel. Cherry began teaching private piano at the age of 15, logged 9 years teaching experience as a music specialist (grades K – 9) in Core Knowledge schools, and is proud to say her adult lifetime has been spent raising young musicians. Her three grown children are musicians. She has a handful of grandchildren. The oldest two play with the family band 80zAM. Cherry played keys with an oldies band in Edmonds, WA; Ken Dravis and Eagle River out of Grand Junction; and a wedding band.

She currently leads the adorable beginning adult band, SmorgasBand, and plays keys with Stillwater’s own Groove Casters. Cherry also plays the grand piano at Jean-Pierre French bakery on Saturday and Sunday mornings. She is apt to stop and play every public piano she sees and to get quite geeky about musical jargon.
