Brian joined our private lesson and classroom instruction staff in 2019. Brian is a multi-instrumentalist with facility in a wide range of musical genres including folk, blues, bluegrass, swing, Celtic, country, rock and pop. Along with his musical knowledge, Brian is also a trained educator, having received his Masters of Education from Columbia University’s Teachers College in 1994. He taught at the elementary level for years in the NYC public school system. Using his musical knowledge and education background, Brian strives to adapt his teaching to the methods and modalities best suited to each student. Whether the student is new to the instrument or already possesses some ability, instruction is tailored to the individual to help ensure progress. This approach, coupled with Brian’s love of music, creates a safe, supportive environment that fosters both musical learning and joy in making music.
