
Music has been a part of his life since his early teens. Starting with trombone in high school and then to the Tulane Jazz band; from playing guitar in a rock band through high school and on to folk music in early college, to taking up banjo in graduate school. Mark has been a performing musician for over 50 years, playing in many bands in both Indiana and Colorado. Most recently, Mark has been the agent and banjo player for The Badly Bent, an award winning bluegrass band from Durango. The band has performed at over 100 national festivals and has released 3 CDs in it’s 20 year history. Mark has been recorded on over 30 projects nationwide.
Mark is a mentor with the SCAPE (Southwest Colorado Accelerator Program for Entrepreneurs), assisting SCAPE companies with startup business consulting, specializing in strategic planning and marketing. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Mesa Verde Foundation and Mountain Middle School, and has served on a number of non-profit boards since retiring from Convergent Group, the company he co-founded.
