Stillwater Music (formerly known as the Stillwater Foundation) was created in 2005 to provide educational opportunities for youth and adults, including the disabled and disadvantaged, to participate in quality instruction in the arts in a safe and positive environment. Instructors for Stillwater programs are, like the founders of Stillwater, intrinsically interested in providing the best possible opportunities for area youth and adults in their area of expertise.
For 40 years Katzin Music served the Four Corners region, providing a retail music store, instrument rentals & repairs, and private lessons. When Katzin Music went out of business in April of 2018, Stillwater Music agreed to take over the private lesson program, ensuring that 300 students and 20 instructors could continue their music lessons uninterrupted. In honor of the Katzin family’s contribution to the community, Stillwater’s private lesson program is now known as Katzin Studios at Stillwater Music.
